Chimney Inspections
in New York
The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) recommends that homeowners have an annual inspection of their chimney and fireplace to maintain the integrity and performance of the appliance. There are three different levels of inspections. The most common inspections are level 1 and 2. Our CSIA certified sweeps perform these inspections and examine many different areas of the chimney and fireplace. This comprehensive inspection is based on current codes and standards. During our inspection, we use the latest technology in camera and video systems. This allows for the homeowner to see live views of what is going on in your chimney. The imagery gathered is included with the inspection documentation when completed.
Some of the more common issues that are uncovered when a chimney inspection takes place include water intrusion, thermal shock, faulty or worn construction, creosote, and blockages caused by debris.
